Indy restaurants opening next Friday, outdoor seating only

City of Indianapolis

Mayor Hogsett officially announced this morning that Marion county will begin reopening Friday but restaurants will need to hold off another week. They can resume sit-down service on May 22nd with one stipulation — outdoor only. Indoor seating will continue to be restricted for the time being.

The city understands this creates limitations for many restaurants, so the Marion County Public Health Department will be exploring opportunities to work with restaurants to increase outdoor seating options.
