Over the last few weeks, downtown bakery Amelia’s Bread has been experimenting in the kitchen, baking specialty cakes to raise money for various causes. The bakery’s previous sale of lemon summer cakes raised over $1200 for the Indianapolis’ Black Lives Matter movement, garnering a host of attention and welfare towards the cause.

Now, it’s back this week with yet another fundraiser. Selling a toasted pistachio carrot cake, topped with a salted honey buttercream, lemon curd, honey, bee pollen, and Maldon sea salt, the proceeds will be given to the Mc’Hale Rose Family Support Fund in honor of 19-year-old black youth Mc’Hale Rose who was murdered by IMPD on May 7th, 2020.

The bakery has partnered with the Fund previously and as before, 100% of proceeds will be given to thee Fund and its efforts to gain justice for Mc’Hale Rose.
