The 2020 Carmel Christkindlmarkt has been canceled due to continued challenges faced by the COVID-19 pandemic – taking into consideration the health & safety of the community.
The market has become one of Indy’s holiday favorites — attracting more than 300,000 guests last year in conjunction with the outdoor skating rink.
Dan McFeely, President of the Christkindlmarkt Board of Directors, stated in a Facebook announcement, “It might seem strange to be making this announcement in July, but…by canceling now, both the holiday market and the City of Carmel will save thousands of dollars by not having to prepare for events that were likely to be canceled or faced with restrictions on crowd size.”
Vendors and organizers are working on an alternative option to sell the food and merchandise that is usually available.
