Award-winning Southside burger joint, Between the Bun is taking the next step in its evolution, forgoing a second location — instead opening Crustiez Pizza, Wings & Ice Cream.
Crustiez will be two doors down from its sister restaurant, which relocated from Greenwood to Southport a couple years ago. With today’s climate, it will be focused more on carryout & delivery options although a few seats will be available for dine-in.
Between the Bun has become known for its inventive burgers & hot dogs like the Mac Daddy, Hawaii Five-O, Cookie Monster and the Boss Dog. Diners can expect much of the same with a non-traditional specialty pizza menu to accompany build-your-own options.
The wings will utilize a variety of sauces that Between the Bun has sold for several years like spitfire ranch, apple smack bbq and sweet poontang. Owner Scott Sims has also developed a few new sauces.
All ice cream will be hand scooped with 12 premium flavors in addition to some seasonal options.
Construction is underway and Crustiez hopes to open in the Spring of 2021. Sims desires to franchise the quick-service model.
Still wish you would sell 6 prepatted Berger instead of 12. Boss Dog is Awesome. Keep up hard work Scott it will pay off soon
So, where is Between the bun located???
Behind where Steak and Shake was on Southport. It’s the only building that’s left. Definitely give them a try, the food is great and we need to keep our local restaurants and small businesses going until it’s safe to shop and dine normally again!
agreed!
