Local restauranteur Eddie Sahm never met his grandfather William Sahm. But after hearing countless stories from family and friends of a larger than life figure known as “Hoss,” Sahm wanted to do something special that honored his memory.

When the coronavirus pandemic claimed one of his Fishers restaurants, Sahm’s Bar and Grill, he saw the opportunity to create something new. Hoss Bar and Grill is projected to open at the 96th & Hague location at the end of January 2021.

“Being down the road a little from Sahm Park, also named after him and his work with the parks of Indy, we thought this little highway pit stop was a great place to have a ‘Hoss Vibe’ where everyone is welcome,” said Sahm. “Kindness is the asset we value most in our people, and beers are in freezing cold glasses and burgers are thick and juicy.”

The new restaurant will embody his spirit with “good conversation and looking out for our community.”

While the menu is still under development, diners can expect a fully scratch kitchen that prepares fresh bread, smothered chicken, a variety of casseroles and custom burgers & dogs. These items will pair with a standout bar program and soft serve sundaes & brownies.

Eddie loves the allure of highway exit bars with Hoss just a mile off of 1-69. “It feels like you are traveling, no matter how far you are going. You never know who is coming in, but the point is to be welcoming and kind to everyone.”

The popular restaurant group has long had a presence in the area with Rockstone Pizzeria, Sahm’s Restaurant and The Roost all nearby. Hoss Bar & Grill will be the latest Fishers opening at The Yard At Fishers District just a few miles away.
