As the revitalization on Main Street in Speedway continues, restauranteurs David and Marcia Huff noticed one thing missing — great coffee options.
That changes this spring when the Huff’s open Founders Grounds Coffee Co. The new coffee shop is renovating the private space above their popular lunch destination Barbecue and Bourbon. They’ll also be adding a rooftop deck to provide some outdoor seating.
The Huff’s own Tacos and Tequilas on Main.
Founders Grounds will pay homage to Speedway’s rich racing history by brewing Rex Coffee.
The Terre Haute-based Rex Coffee was founded by Herman Hulman. Hulman’s grandson Tony owned Indianapolis Motor Speedway for more than 70 years before selling it in 2019.
In addition to coffee-based drinks, Founders Grounds will serve an assortment of fresh pastries.
Hours will be 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, while closed on Sunday’s.

Thank you for this and congratulations to the Huffs!
👏🏽
Sounds good but also hope this doesn’t push away the other local owned coffee shop that was looking to start up on main street. This one attached to BB announced after the other locals mentioned opening a different coffee shop.
Couldn’t there be room for both shops? Not bad to have options on the strip.
