When Public House opened in early April at 4002 Boulevard Place, it was the culmination of a journey that started more than 15 years ago.
New Jersey native Sharmaine Cooper attended Le Cordon Bleu in Portland, Oregon in 2005 for a time before moving to Indy.
When out of a job in 2014, she started Sharmaine’s Gourmet Corn out of her home — topping roasted ears of corn with a variety of options including buffalo chicken, broccoli & cheddar, crab and more.
She started selling lunch plates before, making deliveries to people which ultimately funded the restaurant.
Public House’s menu is filled with Instagram worthy dishes like the salmon fries and lamb chop surf n turf. On Friday and Saturday, those same menu items are available atop corn on the cob.
The restaurant is open 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday thru Saturday.
