IBJ: First-time Indy Chicken & Beer Festival getting big response, organizers say

A first-time downtown Indianapolis food festival featuring some of the city’s best-known restaurants and brewers is already nearly a sellout, organizers said this week.

The Indy Chicken & Beer Festival, scheduled for Sept. 25 on the grounds of The Pavilion at Pan Am, 201 S. Capitol Ave, has limited tickets left, said Bradley Houser, festival founder.

Houser, CEO of local food-information website and marketplace EatHere Indy, said capacity at the event is limited to 1,600 attendees, with 800 maximum in each of two sessions. The first session runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the second from 6 p.m. to 9 pm.
