The Block Bistro & Grill’s Story is of Redemption and Celebration

The Block Bistro & Grill

This new concept is a story of redemption for owner Terry Anthony who lost multiple Indy-based Subway franchises due to complications of the coronavirus pandemic.

Anthony is no stranger to the Indianapolis food scene. He also owns Stars Sandwich Market in the 400 block of North Pennsylvania St.

Following the closing of his Subway across the street from the City County Building, a supporter reached out with an opportunity in the Historic William H. Block Building, which dates back more than 100 years ago.

The Block Bistro & Grill was born with a simple inspiration of bringing together people of all different colors & creeds. Anthony promises it “will resemble every block in America.”

The menu will feature boomerang wings, lamb, apple cheesecake crumble and Grand Marnier bread pudding among many other dishes.

Redemption doesn’t just fall at the owner’s feet. “It’s hard to imagine going from losing a restaurant on one side of the Circle to opening a new concept on the other,” Anthony explained, “But I’ve also had the opportunity to hire staff – many hit hard by the pandemic’s impact on restaurants.”

The restaurant will be open from 11:00am to 10:00pm Monday thru Thursday, remaining open til midnight on the weekends.
