Fountain Square is Getting a New Italian Restaurant ?

The family that runs Ambrosia – an Italian staple in Broad Ripple Village for nearly 40 years – plans to open a new Italian concept in Fountain Square this fall. It will takeover the space formerly occupied by Smokehouse on Shelby (closed) and is currently under construction.

Gino Pizzi opened Ambrosia in 1979 where Corner Wine Bar (closed) currently resides. It remained there for nearly 35 years before moving to SoBro at the corner of 54th & College in 2013. Gino will serve as a consultant for the new concept which will be ran by his daughter Francesca and stepson, Lawrence.

Customers can expect a modern, family-friendly Ambrosia-inspired restaurant with outdoor seating and a few nods to the old smokehouse.
