A Louisville restaurant that opened under a year ago in the Beechmont neighborhood is closing its doors.

La Chandeleur began as a crepe food truck in 2016 and saw consistent growth until 2019 when the business simply outgrew its food truck. Owner Kyle Thomas signed a lease in Beechmont in August 2019 at 304 Woodlawn Ave. and finally opened the brick-and-mortar restaurant, after a pandemic delay, in October 2020.

Now, Thomas and his wife are stepping down as business owners, and are trying to list the restaurant and truck for sale to keep it going. The sale was announced on Sept. 2, and the restaurant will continue to run “for the next few weeks” or until it sells, Thomas said.
