One of Indy’s top steakhouses gone

Indy will lose one of its most visually appealing restaurants this weekend when Red The Steakhouse closes after service Saturday.

Last week, Cleveland Jewish News reported that owner Brad Friedlander’s holding company, BJRP, recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy with plans to reorganize. Changes have been swift as the Pittsburgh location closed in September and the Downtown Cleveland location was sold in February.

The two story restaurant opened last May featuring a wide-array of steaks, hints to old Italian family recipes and a luxe interior that included two private spaces. This news comes as an unfortunate surprise — earlier this spring the restaurant also launched a new patio.

Steak fans won’t have to travel far as 13 other steakhouses remain downtown including Tony’s which opened last month.
