Taziki’s mixes health and Mediterranean flavor

Fast casual Mediterranean chain Taziki’s opens tomorrow, May 14th, near Keystone at the Crossing. Taziki Mediterranean Cafe’s first location opened in 1998 in Birmingham, Alabama  — inspired by a family vacation to Greece. Founders Keith & Amy Richards were fascinated by cafes that celebrated home-made, healthy flavors with family & friends around a table separate from fast paced life.

They set out to embrace the ‘Mediterranean Lifestyle’ by using herbs & spices over salt, limiting red meat, replacing butter with healthy fats and having a menu filled with many plant-based options. They place an emphasis on food that is low in fat & carbs while high in protein.

Taziki’s currently has over 80 locations in 16 states. The Northeast Indy location will open its doors Tuesday morning at 11 AM for lunch.
