Today in a Facebook post, The Vanguard announced their sudden closing to much surprise after the resignations of chef Adam Ditter and bar manager Steve Simon.
The restaurant opened in January 2017 in conjunction with Castleton’s Turf Catering. Owner Bill Ficca felt he had no choice but to close after having just 3 and half days notice of their departure.
Ditter and Simon will be making the move to soon opening Liter House — a German beer hall in SoBro in the space formerly occupying Bent Rail Brewery.
Ficca says he still believes in Broad Ripple. He also extended an offer to all seasoned restaurant & bar professionals to reach out with proposals.
